My husband and I rode this trail after staying at the nearby casino. It’s nicely paved and has views of the mountains. We rode the loop which included the easy to ride portion along the road. All of the trail was flat and easy to navigate. A portion of the trail has lights and I was told by a local resident that the lights are on a night to illuminate the trail.
We did the entire trail today from start to finish. The overall condition of the trail is very good. The directional signage needs to be improved especially on the north end where several other trails converge. There are several areas that you need to cross busy streets but good crosswalks are provided. The scenery is nothing to rave about as most of the trail is looking at the backyards of homes.
We parked at the trailhead across from Combs Canyon Rd and snowshoed all the way to the end of the trail by the CC Hospital an back, about 1.6 miles. Easy trail and awesome views of CC and the Sierras.
Rollerblader here! I’m intermediate level? I’ve rollerbladed for years and occasionally complete 15-18 mile rides on my skates. Tried the first mile of this and was terrified (I’m not the best at stopping). Within that first mile (from the south end), had to cross 3 very busy streets, minimal room for error stopping while going slightly downhill onto heavy traffic. Also, parts of the crosswalk were very rough causing several near falls for me on the street. Not sure how the rest of the trail as I turned around before I got myself into too much trouble.
The scenery is great, the roads are great, and the people are great. I definitely recommend this trail!
Started in Bolder City picked up the River Mountain loop trail that runs into the historic railroad pass trail. You can take almost to Hoover dam. Then we locked up our bikes and hiked a little bit and ended up right on Hoover dam. Great trip about 13 miles round-trip. Then we got back and had lunch in Boulder city.
First time on this trail. Rode it counterclockwise and ran into fairly heavy wind. A lot of uphill and downhill and switchbacks during the whole loop. Lake Mead, Boulder City, natl rec area visitors center and distant views of the LV strip are some of the highlights. Bring water and food and be prepared to get a work out! Really enjoyed it and would def do it again!
I’m visiting Henderson while my daughter is working so I went for a ride on the UPRR tail trail. Once I found the trail head near green valley park away I went. It is a very clean and well maintained trail. I did get turned around a couple of times, due to my own error I’m sure, but was able to get back on the trail. I really enjoyed the whole ride which included crossing several crosswalks along the way. Hats off to the people of Henderson, they seem to be very bike friendly/aware.
Stunning views, lake breeze and access along the way. Perfect way to spend a day.
I really enjoy getting on this trail early on a Sunday Morning. I am usually on the trail by 8am.
I start at the south end and ride to E Greg Street.
I park at the Double Diamond Park. It is just a short ride along S Meadows Parkway to the beginning of the trail.
I included two screen shots of the Garmin map and a picture of the entrance to the Double Diamond Park.
Rode the entire trail and back again on my e-bike and it was awesome. It has everything, cool bridges, tunnels, parks and parks and parks, even one with small lakes. I’ve live in Vegas for 30+ years and discovered some new places to go back to check out. It’s awesome! Smooth easy ride.
